No one was prepared for this. When we dive into despair to make things better and hope that everyone around us be more safe and healthy than ever, here are some timeless 'shayaris' by veterans who never knew their gems will become even more relevant today; unfortunately.

"Ghar rahiye ki bahar hai ek raks balao ka, is mausam-e-wehshat me nadan nikalte hai"

Stay inside as calamity is dancing outside, Only ignorant people roam around in this season of brutality.

ree
"Apni majboori ko hum deewar-o-dar kehne lage, Qaid ka sama kiya aur usko ghar kehne lage"

We started calling our 'helplessness' as our place, then we assembled the captivity and built our home with it.

ree
"Tension se marega na Corone se marega, ek sakhs tere paas na hone se marega"

He will neither die of tension, nor with Corona, He will eventually perish with the separation of his beloved.

ree
"Sham hote hi Khuli sadko ki yaad aati hai; Sochta roz hu main, ghar se nahi niklunga"

Every evening I remember of beautiful roads, but everytime I restrict myself from the world outside.

ree
"Koi hath bhi na milayega, jo gale miloge tapak se; Ye naye mizaj ka sheher hai, zara faasle se mila karo"

Nobody will even shake hands, if you rush to hug them; This whole city is a different temper. Maintain your distance.

ree
"Kuch roz naseer chalo ab ghar par raha jaaye, logo ko shikwa hai ki ghar par nahi milta"

Let's stay at home for some time, people complain that I never meet at my place.

ree

"Ghar me khud ko qaid to maine aaj kiya hai, tab bhi tanha tha jab mehfil mehfil tha main "

It's now that I have closed myself in my house, I was still a loner when they called me life of parties.

ree

"Thakna bhi laazmi tha kuch kaam karte karte, Aur bhi thak gaya hu aaram karte karte"

It was obvious to get tired while working. Never knew this rest will wear me out even more.

ree
"Ab nahi koi baat khatre ki, ab sabhi ko sabhi se khatra hai"

There is no reason to get scared of any 'one'; Now everyone is scared of everyone.

ree
"ye jo milate firte ho tum har kisi se haath, Aisa na ho ki dhona pade zindagi se haath"

'Your habit of shaking hands with everyone, it may cost you your life some day.'
